Tata has recently unveiled an updated version of one of its most beloved models, the Tata Nexon. Alongside the conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) variant of this sub-compact SUV, Tata has also introduced an enhanced Tata Nexon EV variant. While the Nexon EV now boasts a slightly higher starting price, it more than justifies this with a range of enticing upgrades and features offered by the Indian automaker.

The freshly launched Tata Nexon EV enters the market with a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 14.74 Lakh, and the range-topping variant is priced at Rs 19.94 Lakh. Tata Nexon EV facelift vs. old Tata Nexon EV: Range and Powertrain

Tata has introduced the Tata Nexon EV Medium Range (MR) and Long Range (LR) options, effectively replacing the previous Nexon EV Prime and Max variants. The MR version is equipped with a 30 kWh battery, providing an impressive 325 km of range, surpassing the Nexon EV Prime, which had a 30.2 kWh battery with a range of 312 km. On the other hand, the LR variant retains the 40.5 kWh battery from the previous generation but enhances its efficiency, offering an extended range of 465 km compared to the previous 437 km, thanks to reduced weight and improved efficiency.

The latest Nexon EV features a new Gen 2 motor, which, interestingly, produces slightly less power at 215 Nm compared to the Nexon EV Max’s 250 Nm. Nevertheless, both variants still exhibit impressive acceleration, going from 0-100 km/h in just under nine seconds.

One standout feature of the new Nexon is its V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) and V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) technology, allowing it to charge other electric vehicles or power appliances directly from the Nexon EV’s charging port. Additionally, the car continues to offer swift charging capabilities, with a consistent 56-minute fast charging time when using a DC charger.

Tata Nexon EV facelift vs old Tata Nexon EV: Design

The updated Tata Nexon EV, although a facelift, presents a significant visual overhaul. It introduces Smart Digital DRLs that perform dynamic sequences and serve as charging indicators. The vehicle boasts modern R16 alloy wheels with aero-inserts and features continuous end-to-end taillights.

Notably, the rear wiper is now cleverly integrated into the spoiler for improved coverage. The new Nexon EV offers a wider selection of bolder color choices, and its boot maintains a capacity of 350 liters. Interestingly, there’s no “EV” badge at the front, but a prominent “Nexon.ev” logo adorns the tailgate.
