5 Jio prepaid recharge plans with one-month validity in July 2022: price, benefits

In January this year, India’s central telecom regulator, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) brought into effect an amendment to the country’s telecom policies – making it mandatory for telcos in India to offer 30-day or one-month plans as part of its prepaid offerings. Underlining how only 28-day plans give users inadequate options in terms of their monthly telecom costs, the move made it mandatory for Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea to include 30-day packs in their prepaid offerings.

Since then, if you want a plan that is actually monthly in its validity period, Reliance Jio now has such plans that offer you voice calling benefits, high speed 4G data, SMS services and bundled content services as well. Here’s looking at what each of these plans offer.

List of 30-day plans by Reliance Jio

Rs 241 Data add-on 40GB 4G data, unlimited at 64kbps after 40GB

Rs 181 pack: what it offers

The Rs 181 pack by Reliance Jio is the least expensive 30-day or one-month prepaid plan that the telecom operator offers right now. The pack is a data add-on service, and will only be applicable if a user already has a valid main prepaid plan activated on their account. The recharge adds 30GB of 4G data to a user’s existing data quota for a period of 30 days. Post expiry of this allowance, users can continue unlimited internet browsing at a limited speed of 64kbps. There are no added calling or content offers with the add-on.

Rs 241 pack: what it offers

The Rs 241 Reliance Jio prepaid recharge is also a data add-on plan as the one above. This 30-day plan adds 40GB of 4G data to a user’s existing data quota, and allows unlimited browsing at 64kbps after 40GB. Other benefits are identical to the Rs 181 pack mentioned above.

Rs 259 pack: what it offers

The Rs 259 pack by Reliance Jio is an all-inclusive prepaid plan, offering voice calling, SMS messages and content services as well. However, it is important to note that while all other plans offer 30-day validity periods, the Rs 259 prepaid plan comes with one calendar month’s validity. Therefore, the period of validity of this plan will differ with the number of days in each month.

Users get 1.5GB of daily 4G data, 100 SMS messages per day, and unlimited voice calls across India. The plan also offers access to JioTV, JioCinema, JioSecurity and JioCloud bundled services. Beyond 1.5GB data everyday, users can continue with unlimited internet browsing – at 64kbps speed.

Rs 296 pack: what it offers

The Rs 296 Reliance Jio pack offers 30-day validity. It comes with 25GB of 4G data for the entire period – after which unlimited 64kbps browsing is applicable. All other benefits of the plan remain the same as the Rs 259 plan mentioned above.

Rs 301 pack: what it offers

The Rs 181 pack by Reliance Jio is the least expensive 30-day or one-month prepaid plan that the telecom operator offers right now. The pack is a data add-on service, and will only be applicable if a user already has a valid main prepaid plan activated on their account. The recharge adds 30GB of 4G data to a user’s existing data quota for a period of 30 days. Post expiry of this allowance, users can continue unlimited internet browsing at a limited speed of 64kbps. There are no added calling or content offers with the add-on.
