Status is a WhatsApp feature that lets you share photos, videos, GIFs, text, and more with your contacts for a 24-hour window. After 24 hours, WhatsApp Statuses expire and disappear. A new WhatsApp update brings more features to this.
1. Private Audience Selector
You can now choose who gets to view updates for individual WhatsApp Statuses.
2. Voice Status
You can record and share voice messages for up to 30 seconds on WhatsApp status. This should give you more time to express yourself on WhatsApp Statuses using your voice.
3. Status Reactions
You can now react to WhatsApp Statuses with emoji reactions. You get 8 emoji options to choose from.
4. Status Profile Rings for New Updates
You will see status rings around contact profile pictures in chat lists, group participant lists, and contact info.
5. Link Previews on Status
Links shared on WhatsApp Statuses show a visual preview of what’s in the link, so your contacts know what they are going to witness once they visit the link.
You must have already got some of this WhatsApp Status updates as the Meta sub-brand has begun releasing them to its global user base. In case you haven’t, you should be getting it soon.
