8BitDo Controllers Are Now Compatible With Apple Devices, Ideal For Cloud Gaming
Dustin Moskovitz
Finding a good controller to use with your iPhone has never been easy, but you might have just gained a new one without realizing it. Per a press release, six 8BitDo controllers are now compatible with all Apple devices, including iPhone, iPad, and macOS and tvOS devices.
Supported controllers include 8BitDo Ultimate Controller 2.4g, Pro, Pro 2, SN30 Pro+, SNB30 Pro for Android, and Lite SE. In order to use the feature, however, you must update the Apple device to the latest version, and the firmware of your 8BitDo controller. The company suggests using its app to perform firmware updates, which requires plugging the controller in on Windows or macOS.

If you’re into cloud gaming on platforms like Xbox, 8BitDo controllers are a great option for playing on the go, and this new feature just makes them even better. The 8BitDo Ultimate is a particularly good choice if you’re looking for a premium controller that can compete with the look and feel of stalwarts like the Xbox One controller or the Nintendo Pro controller. If you’re looking for a more retro-friendly pad, the 8BitDo Pro 2 has the placement of a DualShock pad with the cross D-Pad style familiar to early Nintendo consoles.
