National level shooter Namanveer Singh Brar allegedly commits suicide at Mohali residence

According to police, Namanveer Singh Brar had shot himself at 4am at his Mohali residence. His family rushed him to a hospital where the postmortem was conducted.

Indian shooter Namanveer Singh Brar, 28, allegedly died by suicide in Mohali on Monday morning. According to police, Brar had shot himself at 4am at his sector 71 residence.

His family rushed him to a hospital where the postmortem was conducted.

A trap shooter, Brar had finished fourth in the Minimum Qualification Score (MQS) category of the Delhi Shooting World Cup in March this year.

In 2015, he had bagged bronze in the double-trap shooting event of the World University Games at Gwangju, South Korea.

Brar had picked up shooting during his time at Lawrence School, Sanawar, where his coach has asked him to try his hand at the sport. Brar would later study at DAV College, Chandigarh, and won his first medal at the national level with a gold medal in double trap event in the Sardar Sajjan Singh Memorial Shooting Championship held at Patiala in 2013.
