paperwhite: Amazon accidentally leaked its new Kindle Paperwhite on its own website, reveals key features and specifications – Times of India
Amazon might launch a new version of its Kindle Paperwhite e-reader soon. The new Kindle Paperwhite listing has been spotted by GoodEReader and Reddit users that reveals the new Kindle Paperwhite along with the high-end Signature Edition.
The new e-reader has been spotted in the comparison listing on Canadian and Mexican Amazon websites which released specs and other features of the Paperwhite and Signature Edition models.
The listing reveals that the new Kindle PaperWhite will feature a bigger 6.8-inch 300ppi display with 17 LEDs compared to the 6-inch display in the current generation Paperwhite.
Apart from that, the new Kindles will feature IPX8 water resistance rating as before along with an adjustable warm light option just like the more expensive Kindle Oasis. The new Kindles also appear to come with narrow top and size bezels.
The premium Signature Edition will come with 32GB storage as well as wireless charging and ambient light sensor to automatically adjust the brightness.
On the Canadian website listing, the Paperwhite was listed at CAD$150, while the Paperwhite Signature Edition was priced at CAD$210. The pricing is relatively very high compared to the ongoing models. The base 8GB variant costs $90 on Amazon.
Currently, Amazon has not confirmed the new Paperwhite or the Signature Edition officially. However, with the listing suddenly appearing, it seems that Amazon has already started prepping for the launch of its next Paperwhite e-reader.
