Man Utd trio ‘want out’ with Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard ‘set to leave as free agents’

Manchester United trio Dean Henderson, Donny van de Beek and Phil Jones are all keen to seek transfers away from the club, reports claim. The Red Devils outcasts are said to be understandably frustrated with the lack of opportunities on offer this season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford, forcing them to explore a move away ahead of the January transfer window.

The large squad at Solskjaer’s disposal means he’s been unable to hand a number of players minutes this season, particularly after recruiting three blockbuster names in the form of Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho respectively.

Even Sancho has barely featured, highlighting just how competitive the squad United have assembled has become.

An early exit in the Carabao Cup at the hands of West Ham has also not helped the fringe players’ chances of game time.

But now there is unrest amongst some of those who have continuously been overlooked with transfer now believed to be on the cards.

The report claims outcasts Van de Beek and Jones will push for a January move though due to their lack of opportunities.

Van de Beek came close to joining Everton on loan on transfer deadline day before Solskjaer blocked the move.

But with the Norwegian yet to fully back the midfielder, Van de Beek is ready to call time on his United career.

A whole host of clubs are expected to declare interest ahead of the new year and United are expected to oblige and allow their £34million flop to move on.

As for Jones, he has not featured for United since the FA Cup win at Tranmere in January 2020 before the pandemic, due to a long battle with injury.

He is now fit and ready to feature but it’s clear he is not part of Solskjaer’s plans despite being under contract until 2023.

Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard are also reportedly expected to depart on free transfers at the end of the season.

Both are out of contract then and so far, there has been no sign to suggest either will sign a new deal.

Lingard looks the more likely of the two to leave while Pogba’s situation remains more open with the Frenchman still not ruling out a late U-turn.
