Lewis Hamilton’s stance on Max Verstappen tampering claims as Brit handed disqualification

Lewis Hamilton reportedly agreed that Max Verstappen’s tampering accusations were not the reason for his rear-wing troubles after a series of controversies in Brazil. The Dutchman appeared to touch the back of the Mercedes car after Friday’s qualifying session, and it was later concluded that the wing was in violation of FIA regulations.

Hamilton was comfortably quickest during Friday qualifying, earning himself what he believed to be pole position for Saturday evening’s sprint.

Incredibly, the Mercedes finished almost half a second quicker than Max Verstappen’s Red Bull, Hamilton’s nearest challenger on the day.

After the conclusion of Q3, Verstappen parked up his car before appeared to survey the Mercedes rear-wing while Hamilton celebrated with his team-mates.

In fact, videos showed that the Dutchman reached out and touched the car, which was a breach of Article 2.5.1 of the International Sporting Code.
