Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite India launch looks imminent following Manu Kumar Jain’s tweet | 91mobiles.com
Xiaomi is all set to launch yet another Mi phone in India. This time around it will be the Mi 11 Lite. As its name suggests, it will be a part of the Mi 11 series. The information comes (albeit tacitly) from Xiaomi India head Manu Kumar Jain, who teased the Mi 11 Lite on Twitter. Although he didn’t explicitly state its name, the repeated mentions of the word ‘Lite’ suggest that he is talking about the Mi 11 Lite India launch. Besides, the smartphone has been out and about in Europe for quite some time, and it was only a matter of time before Xiaomi launched it in India. However, there is some ambiguity about just which variant of the smartphone will hit Indian shores. The Mi 11 Lite is available in both 4G and 5G flavours, after all. It’s hard to tell how much the smartphone will cost in India, but a ~Rs 20,000 price tag would be ideal.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite specifications
Both the 4G and 5G Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite variants sport a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel (HDR10+, 500 nits peak brightness) clocked at 90Hz. The 4G version uses Corning Gorilla Glass 5, whereas the 5G variant upgrades that to Gorilla Glass 6. Both smartphones draw power from a 4,200mAh battery that supports fast charging at 33W. Furthermore, they ship with the same rear-camera setup, which is spearheaded by a 64MP sensor. An 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and 5MP macro sensor assist it. The Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite ships with a 16MP selfie camera, while the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G upgrades that to a 20MP module.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 4G ships with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G chipset. On the other hand, Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G uses the Snapdragon 780G. Both models ship with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Despite using an AMOLED panel Xiaomi has opted to use a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication on both models. Other minor differences include the inclusion of Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 on the 5G model, while the 4G variant is restricted to 802.11 b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5.1.
