Jorge Masvidal responds to Jake Paul callout, tells him to come to UFC: ‘I’ll break your jaw’
Jake Paul scored yet another victory in his burgeoning boxing career on Saturday, dropping former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley with a vicious sixth-round knockout to improve to 5-0 for his career.
Following the fight, Paul (5-0, four KOs) called out two UFC fighters who attended the card: Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal, who were at the fight in Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla., in support of Chris Avila and Frank Gore, respectively. Both fighters left before Paul KO’d Woodley in the main event.

Paul made note of their absence in his post-fight interview in the ring. He taunted both fighters, seemingly in an attempt to goad one or both into signing a fight contract. To date, Paul has gone undefeated against a YouTube celebrity (AnEsonGib), former NBA player (Nate Robinson) and MMA fighters (Ben Askren, Woodley).
“Masvidal and Nate Diaz — y’all are b—es for leaving this arena, because I know you don’t want that s—t,” Paul said in the ring. “So get out of your contract with daddy Dana (White) and I will f—k you up too.”
Paul’s callout was enough to prompt Masvidal to respond in kind with a profanity-laced tirade — though the UFC welterweight fighter didn’t seem interested in taking Paul on in boxing. He instead challenged the YouTube star-turned-fighter to take him on in UFC:

“Now to address that little b—h, what’s-his-face. That f—k,” Masvidal said. “Listen, man. You can’t f—king afford me. You understand? Me and all the other names you mentioned, you can’t afford. I know what you pay, and you talk a big game. You say $50 million here, $50 million there. But bulls—t.”
“If that was the case, Floyd Mayweather would’ve took the fight with you. But he hasn’t because you don’t generate that kind of revenue. You’re giving out free tickets. You’ve got street teams giving out free tickets, man. Who are you selling dreams to? You can’t afford me to come over.”
(It should be noted that Mayweather went the distance in an exhibition match with older brother Logan Paul. The fight went a full eight rounds, with no winner declared).
“So let me tell you a little secret about me you didn’t know,” Masvidal continued. “I fight for money, or to fight the best in the world. You’re neither, you understand? I know it hurts.”
“I tell you what. Come on over to UFC, sign a one-fight deal, and let Dana give you whatever he’s got to pay you. I’ll break your jaw in front of the whole world man, I promise you. If you really want it, come get it. Man to man, none of that boxing s—t, where I can’t slam you on your spinal cord and leave you in a wheelchair for life. Come on over so we can do everything. If you want, it’s here, if not, shut the f—k up.”

It’s unlikely Paul will take Masvidal’s (35-15, 16 KOs) offer to fight in the UFC. After all, he has discovered a successful formula by carefully selecting his opponents in the sport of boxing, where rules prohibiting such tactics as wrestling, judo, grappling, leg strikes, submissions and more gives him a better chance at victory.
That said, Paul has taken a big first step in creating what could be a verbal rivalry with Masvidal, which will only help his attempts at creating news around future boxing matches. In that sense, Paul’s callout was a smashing success, regardless of whether Masvidal fights him in the ring.
