WhatsApp is not getting this tick, and why you need to know – Times of India

No, WhatsApp is not planning to introduce a third blue tick to detect screenshots. The news is fake, says WaBetaInfo — the online platform that tracks upcoming WhatsApp features — in a tweet.
At present, WhatsApp uses two ticks to inform the sender that a message has been delivered to the intended receiver. These ticks turn Blue once the receiver has read a particular message.
Rumours were buzzing the internet saying that the platform may be working on a third tick to detect screenshots. As ridiculous as the rumour sound, many may have fallen for the news. But, WaBetaInfo in its post on Twitter has termed it a fake news. “WhatsApp is NOT developing a third blue check to detect screenshots: it’s fake news”, the post says. At present, there is no method through which a user can know if another user has taken a screenshot of the chat or media shared on WhatsApp.

Meanwhile, a new report suggested that WhatsApp users may soon be getting a new feature that will help them locate nearby businesses with ease. According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp could get a new section called Businesses Nearby.
As the name suggests, the new feature will let users easily search for businesses nearby by filtering them using a new interface. It will be helpful for users to search for hotels, groceries, apparel and clothing, among others.
However, it’s not clear whether users will be able to order directly from WhatsApp or just be able to see the contact details, location and other such information. It is already rolled out to some WhatsApp users in Sao Paulo. It is likely to be rolled out to more users in the future. This will include both iOS and Android users.
