Big Xbox Game Pass update will add huge Xbox Series X downloads
Microsoft has confirmed that several big games will be on Xbox Game Pass this week.
This is good news for fans of the subscription, as there have already been some significant departures this month, including Kingdom Hearts 3.
But now fans have found out that Hitman 3 arrives on Xbox Game Pass the same day Rainbow Six Extraction makes its day one debut.
And not only will the newest Hitman experience be available to download and play via Xbox Series X and Xbox One, but so will Hitman 1 & 2.
Developers IO Interactive announced its big plans earlier this month, confirming that they planned to launch a new Hitman Trilogy on Xbox and PC platforms.
A message shared via YouTube regarding the launch adds: “If you’re completely new to the world of assassination, we are making it easier than ever to get started and play the full campaign in one single package.
“The Hitman Trilogy includes Hitman 1, Hitman 2 and Hitman 3, giving you everything you need to jump straight into the world of assassination. And when Year 2 launches on January 20, the Hitman Trilogy will be available through the Xbox Game Pass catalogue for both console and PC.”
“HITMAN 3 arrives on Steam to coincide with the start of Year 2 and will have full support for PC VR and all of the technical improvements that we mentioned earlier, such as Ray Tracing, XeSS and Variable Rate Shading.
“We’re working on support for Steam Achievements and Trading Cards too – plus we’ll be including the Trinity Pack (the HITMAN 3 pre-order bonus) for free with all editions of HITMAN 3 for the first 30 days.
“The HITMAN Trilogy will be available with Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate on January 20, giving you everything you need to jump straight into the World of Assassination. We’re excited to welcome a wave of new players to enjoy the full trilogy through new platforms and services.”
As mentioned above, January 20 is also the same day that the Year 2 expansion launches in-game, adding brand new ways to enjoy the game.
This includes the new Elusive Target Arcade and Freelancer Missions, both of which will be available to play this year.
The first to go live will be the Arcade, with each Arcade Contract tasking you with taking down consecutive Elusive Targets, one contract after the other. Each one must be completed to proceed to the next – and there are additional complications added to the contract as well.
If you fail an Arcade Contract at any point, there will be a 12-hour lockout before you can retry the contract again from the start. This lockout enables us to keep the high-stakes gameplay that is a hallmark of Elusive Targets whilst also giving players a clear indication of when they can play a particular Elusive Target again.
During Spring 2022, the Freelancer missions will be added, promising to introduce roguelike elements, strategic planning and a customisable safehouse.
No end date has been added to the new Hitman Trilogy on Xbox Game Pass, so everyone should get the chance to play through the new missions later this year.
