Anywhere you go on the internet, the only game you hear about right now is Elden Ring. Elden Ring has taken the world by storm and each reviewer has only had to say great things about the game. These glowing reviews are attracting swarms of new players to the game. Elden Ring is a long and comprehensive game and there is a slight amount of learning curve involved with these types of games.
Character creation is extremely important
One of the first things that players will be confused about in the game is right at the beginning and that is the character creation screen. In this screen, the players will have to select a specific class and keepsake from the diverse number of choices provided by Elden Ring. In total there are 10 Classes in the game and each has its respective strengths, weaknesses and equipment, players will have to choose a class according to their playstyle. These are the 10 Classes available to a player in the character creation screen (learn more about these classes in our guide):

Tutorials are necessary
New players to the series will be provided with a bunch of tutorials in Elden Ring and this will teach them about the basics of the game, and also give some details about Co-op. Beginners should pay attention to these tutorials and if they miss out on anything they can just head over to their Inventory and go to the Info section and check out the tutorial again.
Essential crafting items
There are some essential items that players will need to acquire early on in the game, these items can be found in the Church of Elleh region. Once the players reach this area, they should talk to the merchant and purchase a torch, a crafting kit and a telescope. Then players should head over to Gatefront Ruins.
Get your horse!
At Gatefront Ruins the players should look for Melina as she will provide them with their mount, Torrent the mount, will be used a lot to traverse the long-distance regions in the game. While at the Ruins the players should also proceed to find the Whetstone Knife in one of the chests at the Gatefront Ruins. Having all of this the players can move on to explore Limegrave, but after they are done, the players should head back to rest at the Site of Grace located in Church of Elleh. Doing this will unlock a conversation with Renna and provide them with Ashes and a Spirit Calling Bell in Elden Ring.
Get the right gear for you class and scout the area before getting into a Boss battle
For the gear, the players will have to decide according to the class they have chosen, if they have chosen a Mage-style class, then gear would have to be acquired accordingly. The same goes for a Melee-style class. Elden Ring has a deep and complex roster of enemy types and bosses, so fighting every type of enemy head-on would be a foolish strategy. Players should always scout the location and understand where each enemy is to avoid getting ambushed. They should also be prepared with an ample number of resources, health, potions and more as they need to expect the unexpected in Elden Ring. Their combat style will also differ according to the type of enemy they are fighting, some enemies can be picked off by staying at a distance and causing damage through ranged attacks and some enemies need to be fought aggressively and head-on.
Explore! Explore! Explore!!
While playing Elden Ring, the player should leave no stone unturned, they should instinctively explore every nook and corner of the world in Elden Ring as the game rewards the player generously for exploration. Players should explore Catacombs and solve the puzzles inside to gain important items in the game. Caves and Tunnels contain special equipment and players should explore them thoroughly to find these items. Enemy camps can be cleared out to gain spells and other special equipment too.
Make your own path
Elden Ring does not provide the player with a linear path that they need to follow, they are thrown into the enormous open-world almost instantly and they need to figure out their own path through exploration and NPC conversations that drop hints to locations they need to visit. While visiting these locations, the players would need to be careful as the difficulty of certain areas can differ from others and players could unknowingly find themselves battling over-powered enemies.
Upgrade your equipment when you can
The players should upgrade their equipment as and when they get a chance and also build upon the stats of their character. Spreading stat points evenly will not be an advisable decision as this would leave them as a master of none, and the redistribution of stat points skill would not be unlocked until pretty late into the game.
