Spider-Man: No Way Home Reportedly Cut a Fight Scene Featuring Green Goblin and Tobey Maguire’s Spidey
It’s been over a couple of months since the release of Marvel’s biggest blockbuster of 2021 in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The third movie of the MCU Spider-Man franchise culminated in an extraordinary flick, which paid homage to previous live-action iterations of the characters by bringing them back for one last hurrah. This included the addition of both villains and heroes from Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield-led franchises.
While everyone loved seeing Garfield play the Amazing Spider-Man variant alongside Jamie Foxx’s Electro, it was Tobey Maguire’s Spidey who stole the hearts of fans, after returning to play the character for the first time in almost 15 years.
Along with that, the movie also featured two of Maguire’s most popular villains in Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock and Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin. While Doc Ock and Spider-Man shared a wonderful interaction during the climax, fans were surprised by the lack of a scene between Maguire and Dafoe’s Goblin.

It seemed like director Jon Watts never shot a scene of the two together. However, new behind the scenes photos of the movie’s shoot reveal a different story, as it looks like the duo might have fought against each other.

In the newly revealed BTS phots, fans noticed that both Maguire and Dafoe were rigged on to Goblin’s glider, which suggests that the two were fighting on it during that epic climax.
Fans are still clueless on the reasoning behind the removal of a fight scene involving two of the most iconic live-action comic book characters, as it could have easily created an impact similar to that of the interaction between Doc Ock and Spider-Man.
With the movie’s Blu-Ray variant set to release on April 12, fans hope to see this deleted fight scene as part of the tons of bonus footage that Sony and Marvel have promised or it could cause a riot in the fandom.
