New Mission Impossible Movie Titled Dead Reckoning Part 1
It’s official – the next Mission Impossible film is titled Dead Reckoning Part One.
That’s right, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is coming soon, IGN can confirm.
The full title of Tom Cruise’s next Mission Impossible was revealed at a panel during CinemaCon today in Las Vegas. A brief glimpse of the film featured horse chases, train fights, and even Ethan Hunt plummeting off a cliff on a motorbike.
Appearing from the set of Mission Impossible 7, Tom Cruise introduced the film’s first trailer while stood atop a plane mid-flight.
Typical Ethan Hunt.
The trailer itself depicts Cruise in one of his most dangerous stunts yet, launching a motorcycle off a cliff. And audiences at CinemaCon seemed pretty impressed. Other scenes depicted Ilsa (Rebecca Ferguson) with an eyepatch, as well as a fight scene on a train between Ilsa and the White Widow (Vanessa Kirby).
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One and Two are said to be a culmination of the film series. Originally reported to shoot back-to-back, Part Two was eventually shelved briefly due to scheduling conflicts. However, Part Two began filming shortly after production on Part One ended.
The upcoming Mission: Impossible sequel also marks the return of Henry Czerny as Eugene Kittridge – the former head of the IMF last seen in the original Mission: Impossible film.
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One will star Tom Cruise as IMF agent Ethan Hunt alongside Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Hayley Atwell, Vanessa Kirby, Henry Czerny, Esai Morales, and Frederick Schmidt.
Christopher McQuarrie both wrote and directed the film while also producing alongside Cruise, J. J. Abrams, David Ellison, and Jake Myers.
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is heading to theaters on July 14, 2023 after it was recently delayed from its earlier September 2022 release date. Part Two will debut just a year later, on June 28, 2024.
