Paytm now charges up to Rs 6 processing fee
Team 91mobiles tried to recharge an Airtel plan of Rs 148 using the Paytm app and found that it charges Rs 1 as a convenience fee. Further, we tried to recharge Airtel’s most expensive recharge plan of Rs 3,359 and noticed a convenience fee of Rs 6 was being charged.
Things got interesting when team 91mobiles tried to recharge an Airtel plan from another member’s phone and found there were no extra charges this time. The amount of recharge that was shown in the app is the amount that was deducted. This clarifies that some users are being charged Rs 1 to Rs 6 as a processing fee for mobile recharge.
Many users report on Twitter that even after recharging through Paytm Wallet and UPI, they are being charged extra money.
Why the double standards…Either claim that you charge convenience fee and take it or don’t charge it… pic.twitter.com/pgf0rfObEZ
