Your Xbox Series X/S will soon boot up a little quicker, here’s how – Times of India
If you ever felt that your new Xbox Series X or S is taking too much time to boot up, there is good news for you. The Verge reports that the latest Insider build for the Xbox dashboard brings in a new and shorter boot animation, reducing the cold boot startup time by around 5 seconds for the newer Xbox Series X/ S consoles.
With the latest Insider build, Xbox testers noticed the start up time to be much faster than earlier. Later, on Twitter, Josh Munsee, Director of Xbox Integrated Marketing, confirmed that the team worked to create a shorter boot up animation. Josh says that the new boot animation is just 4 seconds long compared to the 9 second long original boot-up animation, reducing the overall startup time.
Xbox One consoles will also boot up faster
Further, these changes will not be only limited to the newer Xbox Series X and S consoles. The older Xbox One will also receive the new startup animation, says Jake Rosenberg, Senior Product Manager Lead at Xbox.
However, there is a catch. The new startup animation will be shown when the consoles are set to Energy Saver mode and not in Standby mode. So, the total boot up time in Energy Saver mode for Xbox Series X/ S consoles comes down to 15 seconds from 20 seconds. Microsoft also recently rolled out background update support for the Energy Saver mode. The Energy Saver mode is the default option, so there is not much you need to do enjoy the new shorter boot animation.
There is no word on when this new boot up animation will be released. But, you can try it out if you are running the latest Insider build of the Xbox Dashboard.
