Google October Android security update fixes UI issues, Pixel 4 reaches end of support cycle – Times of India
As per the official changelog, the Pixel security update brings a fix for the hum that was audible while Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a (5G), Pixel 5, and Pixel 5a (5G) owners used wired headsets during a phone call. All other fixes have been rolled out for supported Pixels smartphones. Connectivity issues while using VPN and problems that were preventing available Wi-Fi networks from displaying in the network selection menu in certain apps have been resolved.
The update brings along fixes for various UI issues that people faced with Android 13. These include compatibility issues with certain app widgets in Android 13 as well as problems that caused media player to display default icon for certain media apps, device crash when playing audio from local storage, empty Quick Settings tiles to display in notification shade, and Work Profile toggle button to appear truncated in app drawer.

The update comes a few days ahead of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones’ launch on October 6 at the ‘Made by Google’ event. The flagship handsets will go on pre-orders in India from October 6 on Flipkart. The company has already revealed that the devices will be powered by the Samsung-made Google Tensor G2 SoC.
