Anime Adaptation of Lookism Webtoon Will Arrive on Netflix With a Hindi Dub
Park Tae-joon’s popular Naver Webtoon Lookism is getting an anime adaptation by Netflix. The show will release on November 4 on the streaming platform and is produced by Studio Mir which was behind DOTA: Dragon’s Blood and The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.
The webtoon is currently serialised on Line Manga and Naver Webtoon and follows the story of a high school student who wakes up one morning with a handsome face and perfect body. The show deals with themes such as lookism and materialism that is present in modern society.
The webtoon began serialisation in 2014 and has 8.7 billion views globally.
“Unique character designers have breathed life into the main characters of the original manga, giving them vivid voices, dynamic direction and gorgeous effects. Through fascinating episodes with a slightly different feel compared to the original manga, this series will deliver excitement and new discoveries,” Netflix describes the show.
“Enjoy the story of Park Hyung Suk as he overcomes diverse encounters and conflicts and grows to fulfil his dreams.”
Lookism is directed by Han Kwang Il with art direction by Lee Dae Woo. Han Kyung Hoon will provide the music with theme song by K-pop idol group Ateez.
