Tyson Fury has declared that he is ready to rock and roll with Deontay Wilder for a fourth time should Oleksandr Usyk fail to step up to the plate after his next outing on December 3. The Gypsy King has found his love for boxing once again after previously walking away from the sport and announcing his retirement following his brutal stoppage of Dillian Whyte.
Now Fury insists he needs boxing for his own good as he targets more big fights in 2023.
The WBC heavyweight world champion will be back out in action at the Principality Stadium – most likely against Derek Chisora – in Cardiff before the end of the year but Fury is already thinking ahead to who he could fight next.
He named his two preferred opponents in an interview with Seconds Out, stating: “Don’t write a fourth fight off with me and Deontay Wilder… I don’t mind. It’s a great fight, if he becomes mandatory again and I don’t get this other fight with [Oleksandr Usyk], then we’ll do Wilder again. Who wouldn’t wanna watch that again?”
Fury continues to hold Wilder in high esteem despite his ongoing rivalry with the Bronze Bomber, who he believes failed to show good sportsmanship following the conclusion of their pulsating trilogy clash in Las Vegas last October.

“Deontay Wilder took me to f***ing court to get the fight. Then this other big sausage [Anthony Joshua], he’s had a contract and didn’t sign it, he added. “One man risked losing millions to make the fight and one man’s running from millions. Different men.”
Wilder returns to action next Saturday when he takes on Robert Helenius in New York following a 12-month lay-off.
It’s exactly a year to the day since Fury stopped Wilder after surviving two knockdowns and he marked the occasion by sending a personal message to his opponent on Instagram.
“A year ago today we were involved in a very, very epic battle,” Fury said.
“It was one of the greatest heavyweight trilogies in the history of boxing.
“While Wilder came up short three times, he was still a worthy opponent. He fights next week, I wish him luck and send him positivity, something he could never do for me. Hence the reason he lost three times. Because what goes around comes around, remember that.”
Meanwhile, Andy Ruiz Jr is still eagerly awaiting a chance to flex his muscles against Fury, who has previously talked up a fight with the Mexican.
Former world champion Ruiz Jr posted a graphic on Twitter of the pair in the ring together, writing: “My time will come! Primero dios.”
Fury was quick to respond, firing back with: “Total annihilation. Seems you will fight in final eliminator to fight me the @WBCBoxing king.”
The Gypsy King is set to confirm his next opponent in the coming week as he refused to be drawn on speculation linking him with a third fight with old rival Chisora.
He said: “In my opinion Chisora at least got a draw with Oleksandr Usyk, so I see Chisora as every bit as dangerous as Usyk – if it is Chisora.”
Fury’s heavyweight rival Joshua will also be back out in December when he looks poised to return at Wembley Arena one week before Christmas.
