Fossil begins rolling out Wear OS 3 update for Gen 6 watches – Times of India
Smartwatch brand Fossil has begun rolling out the Wear OS 3 update to the Gen 6 watches, as per a report by 9to5Google.
As per the report, “the UI is pretty “stock” and lines up with the Pixel Watch, as well as the Montblanc Summit 3.”
In the new UI, users can access Quick Settings by swiping down the display of the watch. They may come across a rearranged setup of buttons and some icons having new looks. Icons for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and battery percentage will appear at the bottom, says the report. You can adjust display brightness, ping your phone, enable Touch lock, turn Ring on/off and get the options of various modes like Airplance mode, Do Not Disturb mode, Theater mode etc.
If you press the main button, then a launcher will open which will give the options of the same redesigned Alarm, Stopwatch and Timer apps (powered by Google Clock) from the Pixel Watch, says the report. Pressing the top button would open up “Recents” with some apps noting live activities.
The Wear OS 3 update can be installed by going to the Settings apps. Note that this is a gradual rollout and not all the devices may get the update within the same time frame. In case you don’t see it right away, you’ll have to wait for a while.
The Gen 6 smartwatches by Fossile come powered by the Snapdragon Wear 4100+ SoC. Fossil claims the they offer 30% enhanced performance with a faster processor, faster app loading and lesser power consumption when compared to the Gen 5 watches.
