Liverpool braced for Jude Bellingham heartbreak amid Man City ‘belief’

Liverpool are braced for Jude Bellingham heartbreak as there is now reportedly a growing belief that the ace will join Manchester City when he leaves Borussia Dortmund. Bellingham burst onto the scene with Birmingham at the start of the 2019/20 campaign, before moving to Germany a year later, but may soon be playing Premier League football.

Bellingham was just 16 years old when he became a first-team regular for the Blues in the Championship. And he has gone on to play 111 times for Dortmund, despite the fact he only turned 19 in June.

The teenage sensation helped Dortmund win the German Cup during his debut campaign at the club and still has two-and-a-half years remaining on his current contract. But he has been tipped to make a move to the Premier League.

Liverpool have been long-term admirers of the England international as manager Jurgen Klopp looks to bring in a world-class midfielder to solve his woes in the middle of the pitch. But, according to the Daily Mail, City are now being viewed as the likely winners of the transfer battle.

City have already come face-to-face with Bellingham twice this season during the group stages of the Champions League. And Citizens boss Pep Guardiola has been full of praise for the youngster.

“He was 17 when he arrived but it was not just about his quality, how he was leading, his kicking, going to the referee,” said the Spaniard. “This guy was something special in terms of his mentality. Now he is 19 and he is already one of the captains. The quality, everybody knows it. The whole package is really good.”

Bellingham, who is not expected to see out his contract in Germany, has already won 17 caps for England. And he has been backed to star for his country in midfield during this winter’s World Cup in Qatar. The Three Lions are set to wrestle with Iran, USA and Wales in Group B of the competition as they look to launch an assault on winning the trophy.
