Google Messages tests full emoji reactions for some users – Times of India
How do the new emoji reactions work
Google Messages have allowed some beta testers to react to messages with emojis for some time now. The app has offered seven emojis for the testers to react to their messages on long pressing an RCS chat which appears in a pill-shaped panel.
With the latest beta update, Google has reportedly added a “plus” icon to the emoji reaction panel. By clicking this icon, users can bring up the full emoji picker which will be organised by category.
This will be the same emoji list that appears when users tap the emoji icon next to the microphone in the message field. However, the full emoji reaction page will not include tabs for stickers and GIFs which are available in the main emoji panel.
The reactions that have been used recently by the user will appear in the top row. The report couldn’t confirm if the most-used reactions page will eventually replace the seven default emojis that were available from the beginning.
