YouTube changes its video uploading process, here’s how – Times of India

YouTube is adding a new change to the way users upload their content on the Google-owned video-sharing platform. The new video-uploading process is expected to help creators who have to share multiple videos on the platform regularly. YouTube has started rolling out a new feature that will show users how long it takes for a video to process its full quality before it’s uploaded on the platform. This feature will work with videos of all qualities including– Standard Definition, High Definition, and 4K. The company has shared a tweet and has also updated its support page to announce the new video-uploading process. YouTube also mentions that higher-quality videos with 4K or HD resolution are likely to take more time to process.

YouTube video processing time estimate feature: How will it work
Earlier, YouTube showed users two different waiting periods before uploading a video, The first part depicted the time that YouTube needed to upload the file from your computer into your account. Whereas, the second part indicated the time that YouTube will require to process the file into a full-quality video.
YouTube has been showing the estimated time for uploading a video (the first part of the process) with a timer and a progress bar for a long time now. However, the estimated time for the quality processing part was unavailable until now. The video-sharing platform has now started showing the amount of time remaining for the user to upload the video in full quality. YouTube will also show separate readouts for different video qualities.

This change might seem like a minor one but this feature can be helpful for creators to share a video as quickly as possible. YouTube’s new video processing time estimate feature will also help users in scheduling videos and keep track of the time it will take to get them uploaded in full quality.
