Apple AirPods have a new challenger with premium features
Apple faces another challenger to its AirPod series today, as a new tech brand is launching its own earbuds which promise the “ultimate audio experience”. London-based consumer tech brand Nothing has just unveiled its latest Ear (2), a set of true wireless earbuds that come with the brand’s signature unique design and offer unbelievable personalisation for the users. The fledgling firm, created by OnePlus founder Carl Pei, noted that it has spent significantly more resources on improving the sound quality of its predecessor, Nothing Ear (1).
As a result, the product boasts of using LHDC 5.0 technology and a Hi-Res Audio certification, something that is missing from the AirPods Pro 2.
One of their flagship features is that through the new Nothing X app, users can also create their own Personal Sound Profile by completing a hearing test.
With this test, the Ear (2) will then adjust the equaliser settings accordingly in real time for optimal sound quality.
The earbuds promise deep, powerful bass and crystal-clear highs, thanks to an 11.6 mm custom driver, meanwhile they have added a new dual-chamber design that enhances the overall sound quality with smoother airflow.
Furthermore, this product is equipped with Dual Connection, meaning that you can connect your earbuds to both your laptop and your mobile phone, and automatically switch between devices.
This means that if you are enjoying music on your laptop and receive a call on your phone, Ear (2) will automatically alert you of the incoming call, and allow you to answer by directly pressing the controls on the earbud.
Once it’s finished and you hang up, the earbuds will automatically resume playing music from the laptop.
The company noted that they have also improved wind-proof and crowd-proof Clear Voice Technology, and Personalised Active Noise Cancellation that adapts to the unique shape of a user’s ear canal.
Carl Pei, CEO and Co-founder of Nothing said: “We are excited to introduce Ear (2) as a significant upgrade to our debut product Ear (1), which sold over 600,000 units.
“With Ear (2), we’ve re-engineered everything from the ground up and utilised cutting-edge technology to create the ultimate personal listening experience.”
For those interested, the Ear (2) will be priced at £129 and will be available first on nothing.tech starting from today.
Meanwhile, if you happen to be in Soho in London tomorrow, that is when the Ear (2) will be available to purchase in person at the Nothing Store.
