Makoto Shinkai’s Suzume or Suzume no Tojimari anime film is confirmed to receive a Hindi dub.
PVR Pictures made the announcement on it social media accounts, writing, “We are happy to announce that Makoto Shinkai’s latest anime masterpiece, Suzume, will be dubbed in Hindi. Now you can watch the story of Suzume Iwato on the big screen in your preferred language!”

Back in January, PVR Pictures confirmed that it will release Suzume in India. In February, the company announced the release date of April 21, 2023. Which makes the wait only a weeklong affair, as the film releases on April 13 in North America. There, the film is distributed by Crunchyroll. An English-language dub is also confirmed for the West, but PVR Pictures is only releasing Suzume in Japanese with English subtitles and Hindi in India.
Suzume released over the last weekend in China, where it performed better than Shinkai’s other films, Your Name and Weathering With You. A whopping 10 million viewers visited the cinemas in China in just three days, and the film made nearly US$50 million there. It remains to be seen what kind of performance Suzume will have at the Indian box office, but I have high hopes of it doing well after seeing Jujutsu Kaisen 0’s performance in the country.
