Xiaomi 13 Ultra launched: Leica-tuned 50MP quad cameras, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and more – Times of India
Xiaomi 13 Ultra is the latest smartphone to join the company’s 2023 flagship lineup, with Leica-tuned 50MP quad cameras, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 120Hz AMOLED, 90W charging, and more. Here’s everything to launch Xiaomi 13 Ultra.
Xiaomi 13 Ultra: Specifications, features, and more
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra draws inspiration from cameras, with a circular lens-like camera module, a metal frame, and a back panel covered in leather for the Black and Green models.
Xiaomi 13 Ultra features a 6.73-inch QHD+ AMOLED display with an adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz and 240Hz touch sampling rate. Furthermore, the smartphone offers a peak brightness of up to 2600 nits, 1920 PWM dimming, with support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.
Powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra comes with up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM paired with up to 1TB UFS 4.0 internal storage. The 13 Ultra boasts a 5000mAh battery with support for 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The smartphone comes with two co-processors – Surge P2 charging chip and Surge G1 battery management chip, which enables different battery health features.
Xiaomi 13 Ultra features four rear cameras, each with a 50MP resolution and Leica optics. These cameras cover six different focal lengths, including 23mm, 12mm ultrawide, 75mm 3.2x telephoto, 120mm super-telephoto, and 46mm and 240mm through In-Sensor-Zoom. The primary camera uses a 1-inch IMX989 sensor with a two-stop aperture switch between ƒ/1.9 and ƒ/4.0. The lens is co-engineered with Leica.
The three additional cameras have apertures wider than ƒ/2.0, allowing for more light, a soft depth of field, and faster capturing of moments. The smartphone also supports Dolby Vision recording and playback, 14-bit Ultra RAW photos, 8K video, and 10-bit Log.
The smartphone offers Fast Shot mode, inspired by the “hyperfocal distance” shooting method, enabling quick focus-free snapshots by manually setting the focus point and capturing the moment in just 0.8 seconds.
Xiaomi has also made a case for the Xiaomi 13 Ultra that promises to enhance the smartphone’s camera experience by providing a grip, a traditional shutter release button, and a zoom lever, mimicking the feel of using a standalone camera. Additionally, the case also includes a mount that allows users to attach filters over the phone’s lenses for added creative options.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is offered in Black, White, and Olive Green colours and starts at CNY 5,999 (around Rs 71,000). It is currently available for order and will be available for sale in China starting from April 21st.
