Suzume Is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes at 96%
Makoto Shinkai’s latest movie, Suzume, has taken the world by storm and is now officially certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, with a 96% score.
Suzume has become Shinkai’s most successful film. It came out in Japan in November 2022 and is currently releasing around the world.

As Suzume released on April 14 in North America and parts of Europe, and the film has received the Certified Fresh rating from Rotten Tomatoes, which shows its critical success. The high rating indicates that the majority of critics who have reviewed the film have given it a positive rating. This could increase as the film is released around more countries.
In IGN’s review of Suzume, we praised the film for its “strong cast, thought-provoking plot, and wonderful animation,” and called it “one of the most captivating animated films released this year.”
Suzume is set to officially release in India on April 21 in Japanese and Hindi. An early fan screening of the film was held on April 9 in a few cities in the country, which was followed by another screening on April 16.
Director Makoto Shinkai is visiting India for Suzume’s release, and he will be present for a Q&A session with the audience at the grand premiere on April 20.
