Avatar: The Way of Water OTT release date in India announced

Avatar: The Way of Water is finally coming to OTT after its theatrical release last December. The James Cameroon-directed movie was a much awaited sequel to the first part ‘Avatar’ which is the highest-ever grossing movie. Avatar: The Way of Water also caught up very quickly to become the third-highest grossing movie just one position below Avengers: Endgame.

Avatar: The Way of Water is scheduled to start streaming on Disney+ Hotstar on June 7th. The English blockbuster will be available in multiple languages including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. 

Avatar: The Way of Water cast

Sam Worthington returns as Jake Sully who is now a Na’vi after he falls in love with Neytiri, and gives up his human body to side with the Na’vi. Zoe Saldaña who plays the role of Neytiri te Tskaha Mo’at’ite (Neytiri Sully) is now the future Tsahìk of the clan, and also Jake’s partner. The movie also has Sigourney Weaver who previously played the role of Dr. Grace Augustine, a human scientist who also took the side of the Na’vi but died during the conflict. Weaver now plays 14-year-old Kiri who is actually her Na’vi’s daughter adopted by Jake and Neytiri. 

The movie also features Stephen Lang as Colonel Miles Quaritch, Kate Winslet as Ronal, Cliff Curtis as Tonowari and Ronal’s husband, Joel David Moore as Dr. Norm Spellman, and more. 

Avatar: The Way of Water plot

The first part of Avatar ends with Jake Sully joining the Na’vi in defeating the military forces of Colonel Miles Quaritch. The Na’vi then gets rid of most humans from their home, Pandora, to live peacefully. Jake and Neytiri are now living a new and peaceful life on the extrasolar moon but this is now threatened by Colonel Miles Quaritch who has come back to take revenge against Jake and his family. A new war will see Jake and Neytiri working together with the Na’vi army to protect their home.
