Samsung OLED TVs S95C, S90C launched in India: price, features

Samsung S90C, S95C OLED TVs: price, availability

LG and Sony were, for the longest time, the only notable companies that offered OLED TVs in India. This changed in April last year, when China-headquartered Xiaomi launched its own range of OLED TVs in India. Now, Samsung enters the category with two ranges — S90C and S95C.

Both the ranges will be offered in 55-inch, 65-inch and 77-inch variants of their screen sizes. Samsung is yet to reveal the exact prices of each screen size of the two OLED TV ranges, and the landing pages of the TVs do not reveal the same either. However, Samsung confirmed in a press statement that prices of the new OLED TVs will begin at Rs 1,69,990.

Both the TVs will be available online only via Samsung’s own online store. In the offline market, the OLED TVs will be available across “all leading retail stores”, the company confirmed.

Key features

  • Display tech and size: The Samsung S90C and S95C TVs offered OLED displays, which are particularly famous for offering significantly deeper black levels in televisions than QLED, LED or LCD. Samsung further claimed that these are the first Pantone-validated OLED TVs in India. The displays are also certified as HDR OLED+.
  • Processor: Samsung uses its proprietary Neural Quantum Processor with 4K upscaling. The company said that the processor constantly scans visuals on the screen to upscale all content to 4K, no matter what the native resolution is.
  • Visual modes: The new Samsung OLEDs come with an EyeComfort mode for reducing visual strain, have wireless Dolby Atmos and OTS certification for surround sound, and a Motion Xcelerator Turbo Pro for high frame rate TV visuals when gaming
  • Frame rate: Both the TVs offer 144Hz panels to support latest generation gaming consoles such as Microsoft Xbox Series X/S, or the Sony PlayStation 5
  • Sound: The Samsung OLED TVs feature ‘top channel’ audio, and have six integrated speakers for surround sound delivery on the native speakers. It also comes with a Q Symphony mode to sync the TV speakers to play alongside soundbars
  • Smart features: Both the Samsung OLED TVs can work as smart home hubs. They also have IoT-enabled sensors for voice control of the TV itself, and is also compatible with all smart home standards — which makes it a hub for all smart home lights and appliances
