Pre-Match Analysis:
It was another heartbreak for out-of-sorts Middlesex who fall short by 5 runs in their last outing against Hampshire as a result suffered 7 losses in a row which is the most by a side in this edition of the T20 Blast. Max Holden and Ryan Higgins showed signs of winning the game with 60 run-stand for the 4th wicket however lack of power hitting at the death cost the match for them. Earlier they restricted the opposition to a gettable 164 runs with Joshua De Caires and Luke Hollman picking up 2 wickets apiece. Barring a couple of matches they gave up so easily in the rest 5 which shows they aren’t up for the task in this tournament. They must win their remaining 7 matches to stay in the knockout race.
Sussex are failing to put up a good show that is required at this level and dropped one more game against Essex by 5 wickets to lose 4 matches on the trot. They bundled out just 147 runs that too on the batting-friendly wicket which clearly exposed their batting line-up. Their batting has to take off if they want to cement a place in the Quarter-Finals. Skipper Ravi Bopara and experienced Tymal Mills are giving their best and the same performances should come out from the rest of the members on the side. Their sole victory in this competition came against Surrey by 5 wickets.
