Marvel Artists David Mack and Alex Maleev Celebrated in Gorgeous New Art Books

David Mack and Alex Maleev are two artists synonymous with Marvel Comics, especially thanks to their respective contributions to the Daredevil franchise. Fittingly, Mack and Maleev are the first two artists to be spotlighted in a new series of lavish art books from Marvel and Clover Press.

IGN can exclusively reveal some of the many gorgeous pages included in The Marvel Art of David Mack. Check them out in the slideshow gallery below:

Both Mack and Maleev made their names at Marvel working on Marvel Knights: Daredevil with writer Brian Michael Bendis, helping craft what is widely regarded as one of the best Marvel runs of the past several decades. That series is one of many featured in these books, which feature cover art, paintings, sketches and many never-before-seen images.

“Since its launch in 2019, Clover Press has established a reputation as an eclectic publisher whose books celebrate the arts and the creative process,” said Clover Press Publisher Hank Kanalz in a statement. “The Marvel Art Of David Mack and The Marvel Art Of Alex Maleev are a testament to the vision of two awesome artists whose storytelling helped define the look and feel of today’s Marvel Universe. We’re working very closely with the artists on the design and contents of the book to create stunning art books that you will not want to miss.”

While The Marvel Art of David Mack and The Marvel Art of Alex Maleev will both be sold at retail, Clover Press is also turning to Kickstarter to fund special edition versions of each book. These exclusive versions will feature gilded pages and a slipcase cover. The Kickstarter also features additional pledge tiers with bonuses that include signature plates, giclee prints, remarqued books and even a limited number of original art commissions. You can view the Kickstarter campaign here.

In other Marvel news, the publisher is teasing the surprise wedding of Emma Frost and Tony Stark and just showed off Captain Marvel’s bold new look.
