Crunchyroll Anime Awards Return to Japan in 2024
The Crunchyroll Anime Awards will be back in Japan next year in 2024.
The company has announced that the eighth edition of the Crunchyroll Anime Awards will take place in Tokyo, Japan on March 2, 2024. The live ceremony will be held at the Hotel Shin Takanawa, bringing together creators, musicians, and performers at the event.
Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2024 hosts
Voice actress Sally Amaki and entertainer Jon Kabira will be returning as hosts for the Anime Awards in 2024. Sally Amaki, a member of the digital voice actor idol project 22/7 (Nanabun no Nijuni), is known for her work as the English and Japanese voice of Carol Olston in Tomo-chan Is a Girl!. Jon Kabira, has an extensive background in entertainment across radio, music, and sports.
Anime Awards 2023
The Anime Awards 2023 was a star-studded affair, attracting celebrity anime fans from various fields. Director Robert Rodriguez, actor Finn Wolfhard, sports superstar Juju Smith-Schuster, and WWE’s Zelina Vega were among the attendees who celebrated the best of anime.
The event also featuered performances from ALI, KOHTA YAMAMOTO, and Yuki Kajiura. The highlight of the evening was the announcement of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners as the Anime of the Year for 2023.
The awards collected votes from fans in over 200 countries and territories, with a whopping 18 million votes cast earlier this year. The nominees represent excellence in anime from more than 30 studios, eight streaming platforms, over 50 series and films, and feature the talent of more than 50 voice actors.
