20 countries have clinched their spot for the first-ever Gamers8 IESF Asian Championships
The International Esports Federation (IESF) will kick-off the first-ever Gamers8 IESF Asian Championship with 20 countries looking to qualify for the World Esports Championship Finals, including those in the Oceania region, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 10 to July 17.
The Gamers8 IESF Asian Championship, taking place at the Saudi Esports Arena and co-hosted by the Saudi Esports Federation (SEF) and Gamers8, will be the last of IESF’s 2023 regional qualifiers and will see some of the region’s best gamers battle for a spot at the 2023 World Esports Championship Finals in Iași, Romania.
There was no shortage of intense and thrilling moments during the initial round of qualifiers, which were held online from May 1-21, and saw 33 nations compete across four game titles: CS:GO, Dota 2, PUBG Mobile, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
The countries in each game title that have qualified for the Gamers8 IESF Asian Championship include:
CS:GO: Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Iran, Palestine, Indonesia, Vietnam, India, Pakistan, Australia, Saudi Arabia
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang: Kazakhstan, Mongolia, UAE, Cambodia, Philippines, Nepal, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia
DOTA 2: Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Jordan, Myanmar, Philippines, India, Australia, Saudi Arabia
CS:GO Women: Kyrgyzstan, Hong Kong (China), India, Australia, Saudi Arabia
PUBG Mobile (Direct qualification to WE Championship Finals): Kyrgyzstan, Palestine, Brunei Darussalam, Mongolia, Philippines
IESF President Vlad Marinescu said: “Congratulations to the countries that have qualified for the historic first-ever Gamers8 IESF Asian Championship. We are thrilled to host this event in Riyadh with the Saudi Esports Federation to deliver an unforgettable competition. This is the final stop on the road to Iasi, and we are beyond proud of the World Esports Family for competing fiercely throughout the qualifiers.”
IESF recently appointed HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar Bin Sultan as its Statutory Vice President, who also serves as SEF Chairman, signaling IESF’s advancement in expanding its global reach and dedication to its mission of uniting the World Esports Family. Gamers8, the world’s largest esports and gaming festival, will work together with IESF and SEF to bring together the World Esports Family and contribute to the rapid growth of esports in Saudi Arabia.
