Lando Norris sparks more Red Bull rumours after Max Verstappen moment

Lando Norris has dialled up the speculation over his F1 future with fans sure he is heading to Red Bull following a moment with Max Verstappen after the Hungarian Grand Prix. The duo were spotted sharing a can of Red Bull in the post-race press conference, raising expectations of supporters.

It was enough to send fans into overdrive on social media with many suggesting a move may be in the pipeline. Twitter user @lauabarr39 said: “Lando to Red Bull rumours be starting again.”

@ameliaaarghhh posted: “Never beating the moving to RB allegations.” @angelique020x added: “Lando to Red Bull confirmed?”

@Ilovestyles commented:“ Lando rlly is feeding into the red bull rumors.” (sic) Meanwhile, some fans joked that the incident showed Red Bull were already in talks with the 23-year-old.

@BelSeaWitch remarked: “Just sign the contract already Lando.” @justdel1985 wrote: “They playing with us, plans are in place.”

One user said he thought he noticed Norris interacting with Red Bull engineers in another major hint. @thre3d said: “I swear I saw Lando fistbumping Red Bull mechanics today.”

This was confirmed by other fans who suggested it was another clue Norris was set for a departure. @QatarLUHG replied: “Yeah he was, he’s definitely going there once Checo goes.” The rumours have only increased in recent weeks as it emerged Helmut Marko met with Norris’ agent after the British Grand Prix.

The Red Bull chief was spotted in conversation with Mark Berryman, who represents the British F1 ace. Marko has recently heaped praise on Norris and even suggested he was the pick of the young talent on the grid.

Marko told Kleine Zeitung: “He has a contract with McLaren until 2025, but among the young drivers, he is by far the strongest, His youthful nature would also suit Red Bull the best. It’s no secret that Max and he are good friends.”

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has previously revealed that he had held talks with Noris over a possible move. However, the pair failed to strike a deal with the British star opting to stick with McLaren instead of jumping ship.

Last season, Horner explained: “We’ve talked to Lando a couple of times over the years, but every time we’ve had a conversation, he’s signed a contract with McLaren the next day. He’s on a long-term contract with McLaren and it looks like he’s going to be there a few more years.”
