Ubisoft Set To Launch 10 New Games in Fiscal-Year 2024 Including Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Skull and Bones
Ubisoft has just revealed the statistics of its sales for the first quarter of 2023-24. It has revealed that the total sales for the first quarter were €288.9 billion, less than what it gathered in the first-quarter of 2022. However, the company also listed out the multiple games that are slated for release in the remainder of the fiscal year 2024.
Ubisoft’s Q1 sales for FY 2023-24 are down by 9.2% year-over-year, where it recorded €318.2 million in the Q1 of FY 2022-23. However, Ubisoft expects its sales to go up in the second quarter of FY 2023–24, approximately as high as €350 million. This is based on Ubisoft’s line-up of games which includes Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Rainbow Six Mobile, The Division Resurgence, another “large game,” as well as Just Dance 24 edition, Prince of Persia The Lost Crown, Skull and Bones, The Crew Motorfest and XDefiant.
While we do not know what this “large game” is, this unannounced game was also mentioned in Ubisoft’s reports for the third-quarter of FY 2022–23. While it looks like the game has not been revealed yet, Ubisoft recently announced its free-to-play mobile game based on Amazon Prime’s Invincible. Additionally, Assassin’s Creed Nexus (VR title), Codename Jade and Codename Red are also expected to release sometime in FY 23-24.
As for the confirmed titles, the next big game from Ubisoft is the highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed Mirage, launching on October 12th, with Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora December 7th of this year. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is launching on January 18th, 2024. XDefiant is also scheduled for release in summer, with The Crew Motorfest scheduled for 2023. Skull and Bones currently has an “unspecified release window of 2023–2024.”
Ubisoft CEO on Microsoft-Activision acquisition deal
In other news, as Microsoft’s acquisition deal of Activision Blizzard nears its conclusion, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot shared his thoughts on the same at the latest earnings’ call. As reported by Video Games Chronicle, Guillemot said:
“I think it’s good news that the transaction can go through because it’s really showing the power of IPs and where the industry is going. So, there will be lots of opportunities too in the future for all the companies. And It’s also showing the value of IPs that can now be on console and PC, but also mobile, and become more worldwide brands, and when we say worldwide it’s really everywhere in the world, and that’s a fantastic opportunity. And Microsoft is saying that the mobile part of the Activision deal is important. So, all the investment we are making to be stronger on mobile are also in line with that, and all those elements will help the value of the company to grow.”
Guillemot is focusing on how Ubisoft and other companies will be positively affected, especially when it comes to expanding into the mobile ecosystem, which is one of the objectives of the deal.
