Fabinho move to Saudi ‘in jeopardy’ as Liverpool star to make training return
Fabinho will reportedly return to training with Liverpool on Wednesday ahead of their pre-season trip to Singapore with the midfielder’s move to Saudi Arabia now in ‘jeopardy’. Liverpool were rocked earlier this summer when an approach was made by Al Ittihad for the services of the 29-year-old.
Things appeared to move quickly with the Saudi club’s £40million bid seemingly enough to tempt Liverpool into selling. The two sides have been locked in talks, but personal terms were said to already be agreed.
He was left out of the Liverpool squad that travelled to Germany for their pre-season training camp. And all signs were suggesting the move would go ahead, but it now looks as though the move could break down.
According to The Athletic, a ‘delay to the process’ has now jeopardised Fabinho’s move to Saudi Arabia.
Negotiations are said to be ‘continuing’ between the two teams and all parties involved reportedly want a deal to get done. Al Ittihad haven’t withdrawn their interest either, suggesting the structure of the deal is the main stumbling block.
The report also points out that Fabinho has ‘behaved impeccably throughout’, indicating he’s not been pushing for the deal to get over the line. There was some suggestion this week that Fabinho’s move was being held up due to Saudi Arabia’s ban on the breed of dogs the Brazilian owners.
