Achen and Shavers Named MSC Baseball Players of the Week

Bowling Green, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson’s (Ky.) Cohen Achen and Cumberlands’ (Ky.) Ryan Shavers have been named MSC Baseball Players of the Week, announced conference officials Monday.

MSC Baseball Player of the Week

Ryan Shavers – Cumberlands (Ky.) – Sr. – OF – Chesapeake, Va.

• Shavers put together an impressive 9-15 week at the plate, aiding the Patriots to five straight wins.
• The senior hit .600, featuring four home runs and 12 total RBIs.
• He went 4-4 with two home runs and a stolen base in the Patriots’ 18-11 defeat of Bethel.
• This is Shavers’ first career MSC weekly award.

MSC Baseball Pitcher of the Week

Cohen Achen – Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) – Jr. – P – Calgary, Alberta

• Achen retired 11 batters on strikes in Lindsey Wilson’s 2-0 win over Pikeville.
• The junior threw a complete seven innings, allowing just a single hit.
• Achen completed the shutout effort with just a single walk.
