Activision Blizzard is Working on a 2023 Call of Duty Full Premium Release Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 makes $1 Billion in 10 Days and More

Activision Blizzard just posted their third quarter 2022 financial results, and they hold some exciting information for Call of Duty players. Through the document, it has been noticed that Activision does not wish to stop after the success of MW2 and is continuing the momentum in 2023. Their plans for 2023 include, “the most robust Call of Duty live operations to date, the next full premium release in the blockbuster annual series, and even more engaging free-to-play experiences across platforms”.

Popular Call of Duty news source, CharlieIntel also posted the excerpt from the above mentioned document, talking about the full premium release for 2023. Now some players feel that a new game could appear in 2023, but Jason Schrier begs to differ.

He replied to CharlieIntel saying that people are falling for PR Language. The 2023 release will be a continuation of Modern Warfare 2. The reason why it has been called a full premium release is because Activision Blizzard intends to market the game as a title with new single player and multiplayer content, like a game of the year edition.

In other news, Modern Warfare 2 players have already crossed the 1 billion matches mark. On top of that, the game has recorded $1 billion in sell through within 10 days post launch. This comes after the game already broke the franchise record by raking in $800 million in 3 days. The new record breaks the previous record of $1 billion in 15 days held by Black Ops II in 2012. Here all the newest records for Modern Warfare 2:

  • Modern Warfare II is the highest grossing entertainment opening of 2022.
  • Modern Warfare II is the #1 top selling opening in franchise history topping $800 million in sell-through following its first three days of release.
  • On November 16, the run continues with the release of Call of Duty: Warzone™ 2.0.

Moreover, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has introduced an overhauled in-game reporting system. Through this, players are provided with different ways to report offensive behavior and new features for their moderation teams to combat toxicity. If a player exhibits toxic behavior, then the moderation team is able to mute that player globally from all in-game voice chat features.

Lastly, Warzone 2 has just received new artwork. Call of Duty Twitter account has posted a new image, along with the caption, “Welcome to Al Mazrah. Drop-in. Play for free on November 16!”
