5G in India
After India’s 5G spectrum auctions ended in August 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially launched 5G services on October 1st, 2022. Only two of India’s three biggest telecom companies offer 5G services right now. Airtel was the first service provider to use non-standalone access (NSA) technology commercially. Jio, on the other hand, is the only Indian operator that uses the 700 MHz band and has chosen to use 5G standalone access (SA) (5G low-band spectrum).
