Airtel 5G Plus service now live in Kolkata – Times of India

Airtel has expanded its 5G service to another city. The telecom operator has rolled out the Airtel 5G Plus service in Kolkata. With the roll of Airtel 5G Plus service in Kolkata, the company has now covered 26 cities of West Bengal. Airtel’s 5G services already live in Haldia, Ranaghat, Contai, Krishnanagar, Puruliya, Bongaon, Bankura, Raniganj and Kolaghat.
What Airtel users need to do to access its 5G service
  • Users need to be in a 5G city or area
  • To access 5G, users need to check for notifications/alerts in their Airtel Thanks app.
  • To experience Airtel 5G Plus smartphones, customers need to change their preferred network type to 5G.
  • Users can access the Airtel 5G Plus service on their existing SIM cards and don’t need to get a new SIM.
  • Also, Airtel 5G Plus service is available on all the existing data plans. So, you don’t have to buy a new plan.

Speaking about the launch, Ayan Sarkar, CEO – West Bengal, Bharti Airtel said, “I am delighted to announce the roll-out of Airtel 5G Plus in Kolkata in addition to Haldia, Ranaghat, Contai, Krishnanagar, Puruliya, Bongaon, Bankura, Raniganj, Kolaghat and more. Airtel customers in these twenty-six cities can now experience the power of the ultrafast 5G network and enjoy speeds up to 20-30 times faster than the current 4G speeds. We are in the process of lighting up the entire city which will allow customers to enjoy superfast access to high-definition video streaming, gaming, multiple chatting, instant uploading of photos and more.”
Airtel Unlimited data offer
Recently, Airtel announced the Unlimited data offer for its subscribers. The service provider has announced that all the postpaid users and prepaid subscribers with a data plan of Rs 239 and above will be able to avail of the offer.
