Airtel has revised its base Prepaid plan: Find out how the new plan compares to that of Reliance Jio and Vodafone-Idea – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Airtel is revising its prepaid plans. The company has increased the pricing of its base plan. Airtel’s 79 Smart Recharge prepaid plan is the new entry-level plan from the company. The new Airtel Prepaid Recharge plan replaces the company’s existing Rs 49 plan, which has been discontinued. According to Airtel, the new Rs 79 Smart Recharge plan offers up to four times more outgoing minutes and double data. Here’s how the new base plan from Airtel competes against the entry-level prepaid plans of rivals Reliance Jio and Vodafone-Idea.
Reliance Jio offers an entry-level plan of Rs 39, while the entry-level plan from Vi costs Rs 49. Here’s a comparison of all the prepaid plans from the three service providers.
Airtel Rs 79 entry-level prepaid plan
The new prepaid plan of Rs 79 from Airtel offers 200MB data and talktime of Rs 64. The subscribers will be charged 1 paisa per second for both local and STD calls. This new entry-level plan comes with the validity of 28 days.
Reliance Jio Rs 39 entry-level prepaid plan
Designed for JioPhone users the recharge plan of Reliance Jio cost Rs 39. Under the plan, the JioPhone users will have 1400MB data with a daily FUP limit of 100MB. The plan comes with the validity of 14 days and it also offers unlimited local and STD calling. JioPhone users will also get free access to the Jio Suite apps which include JioTV, JioCinema and more.
Vi Rs 49 entry-level prepaid plan
Vi offers an entry-level prepaid plan of Rs 49. Under this plan, the Vi subscribers will get talktime of Rs 38 and 100MB data. The users will be charged 2.5 paise per second for the local and STD calls. The plan comes with a validity of 28 days.
Apart from the above-mentioned plans, both Reliance Jio and Vi also offer corresponding plans of Rs 75 and Rs 79 respectively.
Rs 75 plan of Reliance Jio
The entry-level plan of Rs 75 from Reliance Jio is also designed for the JioPhone users. Under this, the Jio users get a total of 3GB data with unlimited calling facility. The plan also offers free access to the Jio Suite apps and comes with the validity of 28 days.
Rs 79 plan of Vi
Vi on the other hand also offers a plan of Rs 79 for its subscribers. The plan is valid for a period of 28 days. Same as the Airtel plan, the Vi plan also offers talktime of Rs 64 and 200MB data.
