Airtel launches 5G services in Pune: Key locations and other details – Times of India

Major telecom provider Airtel is gradually rolling out its 5G services in different parts of the country. The telecom company has now launched Airtel 5G Plus services in the city of Pune, Maharashtra.

In addition to a few other select locations, Airtel’s 5G network can now be used in Koregaon Park, Kalyaninagar, Baner, Hinjewadi, Magarpatta, Hadapsar, Kharadi, Model Colony, Swargate, and Pimpri Chinchwad.
Airtel customers do not need to buy a new SIM in order to use 5G services because the current Airtel SIM is 5G enabled. Customers with 5G-enabled devices can use the Airtel 5G Plus network in their area without paying any extra charges until the rollout is more widespread. Airtel 5G Plus users will have access to HD video streaming, gaming, multiple chats, instant photo uploads, and more.

Airtel 5G services are now available in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Siliguri, Nagpur, Varanasi, Panipat, Gurugram, Guwahati, Patna, Lucknow, Shimla, Imphal, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Vizag and Pune.

Airtel has already stated that its 5G service will be accessible in all metro cities by the end of this year, throughout urban India in 2023, and all of India by March 2024. The company has also announced that it will expand its network and eventually make its services accessible throughout the city.
Speaking on the launch, George Mathen, CEO of Bharti Airtel in Maharashtra and Goa, said, “Airtel customers can now experience an ultrafast network and enjoy speeds up to 20-30 times faster than the current 4G speeds.”

Airtel has also updated its Thanks app, which enables users to check if their smartphone supports 5G services. The app allows users to check whether Airtel 5G Plus is available in their area. It is important to have a 5G-enabled device to use 5G services in your area.
