Akhil Akkineni’s Agent OTT rights reportedly bagged by SonyLiv

After the release of its official trailer, Telugu spy action movie Agent starring Akhil Akkineni has created quite a hype amongst fans who are awaiting its release in theatres. While the movie is scheduled to release pan-India theatrically on April 28th this year, the OTT release date has not been announced yet. However, as the rumours have it, the movie is supposed to stream digitally on the OTT platform SonyLiv. Akhil Akkineni released the official trailer of his upcoming movie via Twitter, his tweet mentioned “Are you ready for a wild ride? My wild friends ….. It’s time to unleash the madness on April 28th. See you at the theatre.“

As per several reports, Agent is likely to release on the OTT platform SonyLiv somewhere in June. However, no official confirmation has yet been received regarding either the OTT release date or OTT release platform. Reportedly, SonyLiv has paid quite a hefty amount to buy Agent’s OTT rights. Agent cast

Surender Reddy-directed Agent stars Akhil Akkineni as a RAW agent Jonathan Raj Shekawat “Agent Johnny”, Sakshi Vaidya as Vidya, Mammootty as Colonel Mahadev, Dino Morea as “The God”, Vikramjeet Virk as Deva, and Denzil Smith as Abhijeet Mehta. Agent will release in five languages including Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, and Kannada.

The film was announced by the makers in September 2020; however, the shooting and release of the film got delayed due to COVID-19 pandemic. The movie has been shot in destinations including Budapest, Hyderabad, and Manali. T Series and Lahari Music owns the music rights of the movie. So far, three single have been released including “Malli Malli”, “Endhe Endhe”, and “Rama Krishna”.
