Amazon Alexa is getting its first celebrity voice in India. The company is adding Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan’s voice on to its Echo range of devices or Amazon shopping app in India. Users will be able to interact with Amazon’s smart voice assistant and listen to Amitabh Bachchan on a range of topics. Below are all the details:
Do I need to pay to listen to Amitabh Bachchan’s voice on Alexa?
Yes, it is a paid feature. Echo users will have to subscribe to Amitabh Bachchan’s voice on Alexa. It is available at an introductory price of Rs 149 for a year.
How to enable Amitabh Bachchan’s voice on Alexa?
Users are required to say “Alexa, introduce me to Amitabh Bachchan” to start the purchase. Subsequently, they can interact with Bachchan’s voice using the wake word ‘Amit ji’. As per Amazon, users can choose to add Bachchan’s voice to Alexa on Echo devices or by pressing the mic icon on the Amazon shopping app (Android only).
What content users will get access to with Amitabh Bachchan’s voice on Alexa?
According to Amazon, users will get access to content handpicked by him, which includes stories from his life, a selection of poems by his father, tongue twisters, motivational quotes, and more. In addition to this, customers can also ask for music, set alarms and get weather updates in Bachchan’s signature style.

This is not the first time that Amazon has tied up with a celebrity for Amazon Alexa. Amazon introduced the celebrity voice program in December last year in the US with Samuel L Jackson.
