All Eight Harry Potter Films Are Coming to Netflix This Week (But Only For UK and Ireland)
Magical news for those in the UK and Ireland, as all eight Harry Potter films are officially coming to Netflix on May 17. This will be of interest to anyone who doesn’t have all the films on DVD or Blu-ray, and especially good news for anyone who has been enjoying Hogwarts Legacy these past few months.
US readers, we’ve got some bad news, as the eight Harry Potter films will continue to not be available on Netflix. Instead, you can find all the films on Max (formally HBO Max) at the time of writing. This is also where US fans will eventually find the eventual Harry Potter HBO reboot.

Streaming rights for franchises like Harry Potter have the tendency to bounce around different services, especially in regions like the UK where HBO doesn’t currently have a streaming service available. Instead, several HBO or WB properties are licensed out to various platforms, such as The Last of Us and House of the Dragon being available on Sky TV or NOW in the UK.
While it’s unclear where the rebooted Harry Potter TV series will end up in regions without Max, speculation about the upcoming series has continued. In April it was confirmed that Warner Bros. Discovery are producing a “faithful adaptation” of the novels for streaming. A new cast will be playing the characters, and the series has been given a massive 10-year commitment.

Our Top VPN Pick for Streaming
If you haven’t yet secured yourself a VPN, that’s not an issue either. Our top pick for VPNs in 2023 is ExpressVPN, and they’ve currently got a great deal, with 49% off it’s 1-year deal, you’re also getting an additional 3-months free.
So at the equivalent of $6.67 per month, you’re getting 15-months of coverage under one of the best VPNs available at the moment. Plus, if you don’t get on with ExpressVPN, their deal also includes a 30-day risk-free money-back guarantee! It’s a win-win.
