Audible said Tuesday an issue was impacting the release of some preordered audiobooks of
Prince Harry
‘s “Spare,” causing delays for customers eager to listen to the highly anticipated memoir.
“We’re aware of an issue impacting a limited amount of preorders and are actively working on this,” the platform’s support team said in response to customers experiencing delays with their preordered audiobooks, narrated by
Prince Harry
and released Tuesday.
Audible told customers Tuesday morning the issue should be resolved within a few hours. The delays appeared to affect other preordered titles on Audible released Tuesday as well.
A number of Audible users said in posts on social media they hadn’t received their preordered audiobooks of “Spare” by midmorning Tuesday.
“Spare” sat at the top of bestsellers lists from Amazon and Barnes and Noble Tuesday morning. In London, several book stores extended their opening hours to accommodate an anticipated rush of customers. Waterstones, the U.K.’s largest bookstore chain, said the memoir was the company’s biggest preorder title for a decade.
