AMD Announces Threadripper 7000 CPUs, Offers Exceptional Performance For High-End Computers – Smartprix

After Intel, AMD announced its new lineup of high-end processors. These come under the Threadripper 7000 and Threadripper 7000 Pro series. While the former is for professionals or creatives, the latter targets enterprises with exceptional performance. Here are the key features of AMD’s latest lineup of processors.

AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000 WX-Series Key Features

First and foremost, the Ryzen Threadripper Pro 7000 WX-Series is for professionals and enterprises, as it offers tremendous power, something that regular users might not be able to take full advantage of. To achieve exceptional performance, AMD has equipped the series with up to 96 cores and 192 threads. The chipsets also offer high levels of security.

The series contains six processors, out of which the AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 7995WX comes with 96 cores, 192 processing threads, and a maximum clock speed of up to 5.1 GHz. This model also supports up to 128 PCle 5 lanes, and an eight-channel memory lane. Then comes the Threadripper PRO 7985WX, which has 64 cores, 128 threads, and a top clock speed of up to 5.1 GHz.

The Threadripper Pro 7975WX and 7965WX offer a peak frequency of 5.3 GHz. However, while the former has 32 cores and 64 processing threads, the latter offers 24 cores and 48 threads. Further, the base frequency of the 7965WX is 4.2 GHz, while the 7975WX tops at 4.0 GHz.

Last but not least, the Threadripper Pro 7955WX and 7945WX both have a peak frequency of 5.3 GHz. The former offers 16 cores and 32 threads, while the latter has 12 cores and 24 threads.

All these chipsets are based on the company’s Zen 4 architecture. They have a maximum TDP of 350W, an L3 cache of up to 384MB, and up to 2TB of RAM. However, the company hasn’t revealed the prices of these high-end processors yet.

AMD Threadripper 7000 Series Key Features And Price

Along with the Threadripper Pro 7000 series, the company has also launched non-pro models. These come after a long break since the 2019 Threadripper 3000 series. These include the Threadripper 7980X with 64 cores, 128 threads, and a 320MB cache. This particular variant costs $4,999, which is roughly equal to Rs. 4,15,000 in India.

Then comes the Threadripper 7970X, which offers 32 cores and 64 threads with a 160MB cache. This model costs $2,499, which is about Rs. 2,07,000. Last but not least, the lineup has the Threadripper 7960X chipset equipped with 24 cores, 48 threads, and a 152MB cache (costs $1,499, which is about Rs. 1,24,000).
