Ana de Armas, the actress who’s starred in movies such as Knives Out, Blade Runner 2049, and No Time to Die, has downplayed the rumors that she’d be playing Wonder Woman in the DCU.
The news comes from a Wired Web’s Most Searched Question video, where de Armas is asked, “Is Ana de Armas the new Wonder Woman.
Her response was to praise Gal Gadot, who has won for defining the role across the two previous Wonder Woman movies.
“Well, I feel like Gal Gadot is doing a great job, so, you know, I think she should keep doing that,” de Armas said.
Since James Gunn and Peter Safran became the Co-CEOs of DC films, fans have wondered which actors would be reprising their roles in future DC movies. Shortly after Gunn announced that his plans for DCU had been finalized, it was reported that Henry Cavill would no longer play Superman in future films.
It’s worth mentioning that Gunn does intend to have Wonder Woman appear in more DC projects. Earlier in March, Gunn had teased on Twitter that DC is working on an animated Wonder Woman project, but it’s unclear what the project may be about.
In the meantime, Ana de Armas has been keeping busy. She recently starred in Apple TV+’s Ghosted with Chris Evans. It was also recently announced that her John Wick spinoff Ballerina would be released on June 7, 2024.
