Android 13 beta adds Jio 5G support on Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 series – Times of India
Last month, Google released the first build of the Android 13 Quarterly Platform Release for Pixel smartphones, bringing support for 5G networks in India. However, the update did not support Jio’s True 5G network. But, with the latest Android 13 beta update, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 series get support for Jio 5G.
Google is rolling out the Android 13 QPR beta 3.2 update for Pixel smartphones. Among other fixes, the update enables the Jio True 5G network for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 series. Thus, the Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, and Pixel 7 Pro will now support the 5G network of Jio. But only if your Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 series smartphone is running the latest Android 13 beta build.

In India, Google’s most affordable smartphone, the Pixel 6a, will offer 5G connectivity with support for 19 bands. On the other hand, the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, Google’s newest high-end smartphones in India, support 22 5G bands.
If you’re currently registered with the Android 13 Beta program and your device is running Beta 3.1, you will receive an over-the-air (OTA) update for Beta 3.2. However, if your device still runs an older Beta version, the Beta 3.2 patch will only be installed once you update to Beta 3.1.
The changelog accompanying the update, however, is relatively brief and doesn’t offer much detail. The primary problem addressed in this patch is the appearance of flashing green screens on Pixel devices, which have been a source of frustration for many users.
The Android 13 Quarterly Platform Release is expected to come in March, once Google finishes beta testing this month. The update should fix some critical bugs, while introducing some handy new features for Google Pixel smartphones, including the 5G support for Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 series in India.
